Aren't they annoying, those students, who keep you from doing real work? In my view, design research fails to understand how it is students who evangelize the design research. What I see happening is that young graduates join a company and slowly, very slowly, their freshly acquired knowledge, skills and processes seep into the company's best practices. If they know and can apply your research work that will find its way into design practice too. Likely it will take 15 to 20 years for them to become managers and run design practice according to their - and your - insights, so be patient... It is your students who are your best chance of disseminating your work. Or did you expect managers in industry to read your papers and suddenly see the light?
