Arguably, Design Research is a messy process that involves and implicates many different actors. In the past 50 years, the field has failed to recognise the potential for practice- based research to perform different versions of ‘research’ as a range of situated practices. These are performative in the way they bring about different versions of the people involved, issues at stake, types of knowledges and potential futures in its activities. How can we work in a way that is aware of the messy ontological politics of Design Research?
